             This book which has been written by  Howard-Jones , who is neuroscience-educationalist, is very interesting read. He explains how early language and maths development reflects how both have evolutionary arisen. This why very young children reflects early cave learning. Even animal can count up to four.

          Howard-Jones refers to the fact that there it is far from assured that the will be simple presciptions that can be develop that guarantee standards will improve.  He provides a cognitive perspective on school learning.

        This a very interesting book by Hirsch, who explains how France and Sweden, had excelllent elementary educational system, but they adandoned them for ideological reasons with a view to improve standards. They adopted a child centred approach to the curriculum and they gave their schools too much autonom
